Historical Notes

1. SID 2010 (Royal Holloway, University of London, UK; 13-16 September 2010) was hosted by Duska Rosenberg. Visit here for more details.

2. SID 2009 (Kyoto, Japan; November 9th-11th, 2009) was hosted by Osamu Katai.  Visit here for more details.   Selected papers are published in online-first of the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by Osamu Katai, Toyoaki Nishida and Renate Fruchter.

3. SID 2008 (San Juan, Puerto Rico; December 2-4, 2008, hosted by Humberto Cavallin) was closed enthusiastically.  Visit here for more details.  Selected papers were published in Vol. 25, No. 2 from the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by Humberto Cavallin, Renate Fruchter and Toyoaki Nishida.

4. The sixth workshop (SID 2007) was held during July 2-4, 2007 in Trento, Italy.   Selected papers were published in Vol. 24, No. 1 from the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by A. Nijholt, Oliviero Stock and Toyoaki Nishida.

5. The fifth workshop (SID 2006) was held during March 24-26, 2006, in Osaka, Japan.   The editorial and selected papers were published in Vol. 23, No. 2 from the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by Asako Miura and Naohiro Matsumura.

6. The fourth SID workshop (SID 2005) was held during March 24-26, 2005, at Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA.  Selected papers were published in Vol. 22, No. 2 of the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by Renate Fruchter, Toyoaki Nishida, and Duska Rosenberg.

7. The third SID Workshop (SID 2004) was held during 5th - 7th of July 2004, at University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands.  Selected papers were published in Vol. 20, No. 2 of the AI & Society journal, with an editorial by Anton Nijholt and Toyoaki Nishida.

8. The second SID workshop (SID 2003) was held during 6th – 8th of July 2003 at Royal Holloway University of London Egham, Surrey U.K.  Selected papers were published in Vol. 19, No. 1 of the AI & Society journal as a special issue edited by Renate Fruchter, Toyoaki Nishida, and Duska Rosenberg.

9. The first SID workshop (SID 2001) was held on May 21st and 22nd, 2001, in Matsue, Japan.  Selected papers from the first SID workshop (SID 2001) were published in Lecture Notes on Artificial Intelligence LNAI 2253: "New Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence", edited by Terano, Nishida, Namatame, Tsumoto, Ohsawa, and Washio, Springer Verlag, December 2001.
