Stuart Moran is a researcher at the Informatics Research Centre, University of Reading, UK, where he also obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and Ph.D. in Informatics. While his initial interests were in electronic engineering and hardware design, this soon shifted focus as he began to see the importance of humans and their interaction with computer systems. This led to his current more human-oriented research interests in pervasive computing, technology acceptance, persuasive technologies and human behaviour.
Project
Stuart was awarded a JSPS short-term fellowship to carry out post-doctoral research at the Nishida lab, from July 9th 2011 – January 9th 2012 (6 Months) . The aim of the project is to apply the predictive model (PSA-BI model) developed in Stuart’s thesis to Human-Agent Interactions; with particular focus on anthropormophic agents. The intention is to develop a model which can predict user behavioural responses to humanoid robots and agents, to increase acceptance rates prior to their introduction.
