西田豊明

1977年京都大学工学部卒業.1979同大学院修士課程修了,1993年奈良先端科学技術大学院大学教授,1999年東京大学大学院工学系研究科教授,2001年東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科教授を経て,2004年4月京都大学大学院情報学研究科教授,現在に至る.人工知能とインタラクションの研究に従事.会話情報学を提唱.理化学研究所・革新知能統合研究センター(AIP)・「人とAIのコミュニケーション」チームリーダー(2017~),総務省「AIネットワーク社会推進会議」構成員,日本学術会議連携会員(2006~).情報処理学会フェロー電子情報通信学会フェロー

 

研究領域
人工知能とインタラクション,会話情報学

現在の研究テーマ
インタラクション(人間や人工システムや環境の間の相互の働きかけ)という視点から,人間同士,人間とエージェント(自律的に行動する人工システム)の間,およびエージェント同士のコミュニケーションに関わる情報理工学的研究を展開する.知識創造に関わる知識インタラクションに焦点をあてている.

(1) 会話情報学
人間が日常慣れ親しんでいるコミュニケーション様式である会話の役割に着目し,会話的コミュニケーションの解明と強化を目的とする.(会話情報学

(2) 社会知デザイン
社会知に基づく共同知の構成原理の解明と適用を目的とする.社会知は,個々人が社会的関係を構築・管理したり.活用したりする能力と,集団が全体として問題を解決したり,経験から学習する能力をさす.

(3) 原初知識モデル
知識創造・伝承の基盤となるコミュニケーションについて,状況や身体性に依存した暗黙的な側面に焦点をあてて,その解明と支援技術の開発を行う.

中断中の研究テーマ

社会知デザイン,定性推論,自然言語処理.リタイアまでには今のものと融合した人工知能研究像を提示したいと思っています.
