Visiting researcher

Prof. Dr. Jordi Vallverdú, P.Phil, B.Mus, MSc, Ph.D, is Lecturer Professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain), where he teaches Philosophy and History of Science and Computing. His research is dedicated to the epistemological, cognitive, statistical, didactical and ethical aspects of Philosophy of Computing and Science, with a special interest in synthetic emotions.
He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Synthetic Emotions (IJSE), and as researcher is member of the Convergent Science Network of Biomimetic and Biohybrid  Systems Net, member of EUCogII, main researcher of SETE (Synthetic Emotions in Technological Environments), and Expert of the Biosociety Research. He has written several books as author or editor, among them(2009) Handbook of Research on Synthetic Emotions and Sociable Robotics: New Applications in Affective Computing and Artificial Intelligence, (2010) Thinking Machines and the Philosophy of Computer Science: Concepts and Principles.
His interests in emotions and cognitive basis of human-human and human-robot interactions have made possible, thanks to a JSPS fellowship, the visit of Prof. Vallverdú to the Nishida Lab.
